Projects & Infrastructure

Our Projects & Infrastructure Practice has experience handling all types of construction disputes including claims for delays, defects and liquidated damages.

We handle both contentious and non-contentious work, led by Ting Chi Yen, and Priscilla Lua respectively.

We are involved in a number of significant construction disputes, notably:

  • A claim against sub-contractors for defective works in one of the largest earth-filling projects in South East Asia. The project involved the filling in of disused quarries in a specially designed manner to allow construction of a large residential estate. The earth filling works were performed negligently and this led to excessive ground subsidence and significant losses to the developer.
  • A claim by owners of a major shopping centre in Johor for extensive property damage caused by piling works carried out at an adjacent construction site. The piling works had led to excessive ground settlement and caused the floor of the shopping centre to buckle.
  • A claim relating to defective works performed by contractors in the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
  • Geowin Construction v MCST No. 1256 –┬áThe leading Singapore High Court decision on the role of independent experts in construction disputes.

Our lawyers also regularly act for clients in a wide range of real estate matters involving both residential and commercial real estate and spanning from plain vanilla conveyancing to complex high-value transactions. Our firm is on the panel of all major banks in Singapore and handles:

  • Sale and purchase of residential and commercial real estate
