We’re delighted to share that our Co-Head of Restructuring & Insolvency, Meiyen Tan, has been recognised in the Benchmark Litigation Asia-Pacific’s Top 100 Women in Litigation list for the second year in a row!

The list identifies leading women litigators over 14 jurisdictions in Asia Pacific who have participated in some of the most impactful litigation matters in recent history. The extensive research process used in the creation of Benchmark Asia-Pacific’s Top 100 Women in Litigation 2022 involves months of investigation into individual litigators’ professional activities as well as client feedback surveys and one-on-one interviews, and has culminated in the selection of the most distinguished women in the world of litigation.

This recognition is an additional testament to Meiyen’s excellent work as a legal practitioner. She is regularly commended by legal publications; clients remarked to IFLR1000 that “her strengths include her knowledge of cross-border issues, her responsiveness and her commercial awareness” and lauded her as “an essential part of the broader, global team assembled to protect the interests of clients across multiple jurisdictions.” She also received praise for her “strong technical and interpersonal skills”. Chambers Asia-Pacific labelled Meiyen as a “well-respected practitioner with expertise advising debtors and appointees on multi-jurisdictional contentious restructuring and insolvencies”.

Meiyen is also the Asia Regional Vice Director Programming and one of the founding members of the Singapore Network of the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC). She was the Co-Chairperson of the Singapore Network until March 2019 and spearheaded the establishment of IWIRC Malaysia together with members of the insolvency and restructuring practice areas in Malaysia.

Congratulations and well done, Meiyen!
