Head of Restructuring & Insolvency Meiyen Tan has been invited as a speaker for a Restructuring panel discussion at the Australian Restructuring Insolvency & Turnaround Association (ARITA) National Conference. Currently in its 25th year, the two-day conference will be held on 24-25 October 2018 at the Hyatt Regency Sydney.

Meiyen will be sharing her expertise at a session titled “Singaporean Insolvency and Restructuring Landscape”, together with other distinguished panel members comprising Cosimo Borrelli, Managing Director at Borrelli Walsh Hong Kong and Mark Robinson, Past President of INSOL International. Barrister Scott Aspinall will be moderating this segment.

The keynote address will be given by Former United States Bankruptcy Judge the Honourable James M. Peck, where he will be speaking about the Lehman Brothers experience 10 years on and how the situation is like now, particularly given the scrutiny of financial institutions by the Royal Commission. Further highlights include a panel of senior IPs and lawyers debating whether time is up on hourly billing; a review of the last 18 months’ of law reform; recent case reports and a selection of thought-provoking case studies; and what you need to know about cryptocurrencies and other ‘hidden’ funds.

ARITA is Australia’s leading organisation for restructuring, insolvency and turnaround professionals. The Association promotes best practice and provides a forum for debate on key issues facing the profession.

Oon & Bazul is proud to be the only Singaporean law firm involved as an invited speaker.
